Alla Sinkevich is a Ukraine-born, Copenhagen-based fashion designer-maker whose practice sits at the intersection of tailoring and ancient textile craft. Working entirely by hand, she designs, shapes, cuts, and sews each piece, treating garment-making not as production but as a form of material thinking.
Her work is preoccupied with the theme of time: its passage, its traces, and its embodiment in natural materials. By bringing the precision of tailoring into dialogue with the intuitive, irreversible process of wet felting, she produces objects that carry the mark of the maker’s hand at every stage.
Her graduate collection Existential Nomad, exhibited at Create 2018, was awarded a First Class Honours BA and the Student of the Year Prize from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin, alongside a Designer to Watch bursary from Brown Thomas × NCAD. The collection was also recognised internationally as a finalist at the 25th Mittelmoda Fashion Award in Italy, and she received the Future Makers Award from the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland.
In 2021, Alla completed an MA in Art and Design at The Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen.
Alongside her studio practice, Alla teaches wet felting and construction through workshops, sharing techniques that resist mechanisation and reward slow attention.
Open to commissions, and a number of archival pieces are available to purchase or borrow on request.
